Youth of America

by Wipers

Art Fin I consider Wipers to be the predecessor to grunge. They sounded different from most punk bands of the time. More metallic, more rock, long dirgey songs. They claim to be influenced by Hendrix And they surely influenced Nirvana. Favorite track: Youth of America.

foothands A year after Is this Real? they release an album that sounds more like Hawkwind than Neo Boys. A jarring change for people seeing 6 songs- with only one of them clocking under 3 minutes.
No quick 3 chord sounds. Instead they build a mood in each song. It's hard to describe, but these songs feel like you're riding along with the song. You get lost in these rich sounds as Sage will solo or talk over shimmering cymbals. Play the whole album through if you really want to appreciate the journey. Favorite track: Can This Be.
